Numeracle Partners with the Cloud Communications Alliance to Advance KYC Adoption Globally

In Collaboration with

McLean, Va., December 5, 2023 – Numeracle™ Inc. (“Numeracle” or “the Company”), the pioneer of Verified Identity™ for communications, today announced its partnership with the Cloud Communications Alliance (“CCA”) to extend KYC policies and guidance to CCA’s global community of service providers. As a new member, Numeracle will strengthen CCA’s mission to reestablish trust in the global communications network.

The Cloud Communications Alliance is a not-for-profit peer association dedicated to the growth of the cloud communications industry. It provides the forum telecom industry thought leaders need to achieve mutual goals of fostering the growth, scalability, security, and adoption of cloud communications worldwide.

An identity management company founded to return trust to communications, Numeracle’s “Model Standards for Know Your Customer," published in April 2023, became the industry’s first policy guide developed specifically to assist various types of service providers in understanding and applying KYC to meet federal robocall mitigation expectations. This policy framework doubles as a model for legislators and regulators looking to impose requirements in their jurisdictions as well as an aid to enforcement agencies evaluating whether a voice service provider suspected of facilitating illegal calls has complied with KYC mandates.

In its first year of membership in the CCA, Numeracle will deliver the industry’s first KYC Policy Guide for European service providers. This effort seeks to expand the adoption of KYC-driven robocall mitigation efforts in the U.S. to service providers just beginning to tackle this problem in Europe and beyond.

“Rigorous KYC standards are a key element of trust, particularly on an international level,” said Keith Buell, Head of Global Public Policy, Numeracle. “If we don’t know who is initiating a communication, all the other safeguards to authenticate it decrease in value. Verifying identities is key—especially when a communication is crossing international borders with different technological and regulatory environments.”

“International collaboration is key to the future of the cloud communications industry,” said Joe Marion, President, Cloud Communications Alliance. “As an organization focused on bringing the the brighest in the industry together to solve emerging challenges, CCA is thrilled to welcome Numeracle to its ranks as the premier expert in KYC policy, regulations, and practical deployment worldwide.”

“As additional governing bodies worldwide embrace the need and necessity of KYC to mitigate communications fraud, the complexities of understanding and meeting expectations grow exponentially,” said Rebekah Johnson, Founder & CEO, Numeracle. “We look forward to partnering with the CCA to provide subject matter expertise for regulators as they contemplate KYC policies across borders, and service providers as they put KYC to practice in creating a safer communications ecosystem for us all.”
